Carnival Cruises is a cruise line that has been around since 1972. They operate a variety of lines, including a round-trip cruise from the US to the Bahamas, Canada and Alaska.  In a release posted on their website, they say that they are “committed to providing a safe and enjoyable cruise experience for every guest.”

Carnival Cruise Line has been one of the most popular cruise lines for years, but after a period of high competition from other lines, Carnival has been struggling with its numbers. In 2014 the company cut back the number of ships it was offering from 10 to eight, and that was the last round of cuts for the line. However, in late March Carnival announced that it is making more cuts, this time down to six ships. To the dismay of many the ships that will be laid off are the highly rated Carnival Triumph and Carnival Elation .

The Carnival cruise line has released  the latest  restart  plans  for the  2016  cruise  season.  The  restart  plans  include  a  lower  price  for  certain  cruises  and  will  be  available  for  certain  cruises  with  certain  dates.. Additional ship restarts are planned for November 2024 and beyond, according to Carnival Cruise Line. The company now has eight ships in service and intends to add more in September and October.

Carnival Valor will join Carnival Glory in New Orleans on November 1 with four- and five-night sailings.

Carnival Cruise Line Announces Next Round of Restart Plans

Carnival Legend will relaunch on November 14 from Baltimore, replacing Carnival Pride, which will relaunch guest services from Baltimore on September 12 and then relocate to Tampa on November 14 after a Panama Canal repositioning voyage.

Due to a changed dry dock makeover plan, the Carnival Radiance’s maiden voyage was delayed from November 5 to December 13 out of Long Beach.

The Carnival Conquest’s October 8 departure from Miami has been postponed for December 13, while the Carnival Sensation’s October 21 departure from Mobile has been rescheduled for January 2024.

Carnival Liberty (Port Canaveral), Carnival Sunshine (Charleston), Carnival Paradise (Tampa), Carnival Ecstasy (Jacksonville), and Carnival Sensation (Jacksonville) will all be shifted to 2024 as a result of the prolongation of Carnival Sensation’s restart (Mobile).

Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy stated, “We are extremely happy with the pace of our relaunch, which will expand to 15 ships operating from seven U.S. homeports by mid-November.” “We’re making minor changes to our schedule to accommodate for supply chain constraints and to guarantee that our destination and shore excursion options can satisfy the high demand we’re experiencing from our guests. Our crews, both onboard and ashore, are ready to continue providing a fantastic guest experience while adhering to all health and safety regulations.”

At check-in, guests on November and December cruises must provide evidence of vaccination as well as a negative COVID-19 test. Children under the age of 12 and other visitors who are unable to get vaccinated will be given a limited number of capacity-restricted exemptions. Carnival is planning to establish mobile pre-cruise quick testing facilities in all of its homeports as an option for vaccinated passengers who are unable to be tested ahead of time. In addition, visitors will be required to wear masks in most of the ship’s interior venues.
