Carnival has made a habit of announcing the dates for the first sailing of its new ships, Carnival Triumph and Carnival Pride, in advance of the official unveiling. This year, Carnival has announced Mardi Gras sailing dates for the first time: Feb. 8-14, 2016. Carnival has not set sail from Mobile yet, but Carnival Corp. is optimistic that the ship will arrive in time for the city’s official city-wide Mardi Gras celebration in February, according to Dr. John Eisenberg, chief operating officer for Carnival Corp. and Carnival Cruise Line. Carnival’s first sailing from Mobile is scheduled for March 21-27, 2016.
Mardi Gras is a popular tradition celebrated in the United States, France, Canada, Spain, Italy, Caribbean, New Zealand, and other countries. It originates in the French Catholic tradition of Shrovetide, a three-day carnival (hallow-week) that takes place before Lent. In the United States, Mardi Gras celebrations are also dedicated to the celebration of the second day of Easter, which falls on the day before Ash Wednesday.
Carnival Cruise Line has announced the first sailing date on the Carnival Mardi Gras, a sleek new ship that will make its first appearance on the Carnival Magic. The Carnival Mardi Gras will create the first all-inclusive sailing to New Orleans Mardi Gras festivities. Carnival Mardi Gras will depart for New Orleans on Thursday evening, February 22, 2013 for a five-night, four-day cruise.
Carnival Cruise Line has unveiled plans for its next wave of summer cruises, which will include an inaugural voyage on Mardi Gras Day.The cruise line said the Mardi Gras will sail on Saturday, July 31, 2024, and begin seven-day cruises to the eastern and western Caribbean from Port Canaveral.

In addition, the Carnival Magic has just returned from dry dock with a new hull and will be sailing from 7am. August to the 7th. In October 2024, four- and five-day cruises to the Bahamas and Caribbean previously scheduled for the Carnival Elation.
Those booked on the Carnival Elation will be transferred to the Carnival Magic, and new inventory will be available as the Carnival Magic is a larger ship.
Carnival Magic will also add three new six-day cruises and a new eight-day cruise from Port Canaveral between Aug. 11 and Dec. 31. October and 31. October 2024 offer.
The Carnival Sunrise will depart from 14. August: Four and five day cruises from Miami to the Bahamas and the Caribbean.
The Carnival Panorama will depart from Long Beach, California, and offer cruises to the Mexican Riviera.
Carnival Vista and Breeze (from Galveston), Carnival Horizon (from Miami) and Carnival Miracle (from Seattle to Alaska) will continue to cruise through August as part of the line’s relaunch in July.
The cruise line is extending cruise holidays for the following ships: Carnival Pride (Baltimore), Carnival Sunshine (Charleston), Carnival Dream (Galveston), Carnival Ecstasy (Jacksonville), Carnival Liberty (Port Canaveral), Carnival Conquest (Miami), Carnival Sensation (Mobile) and Carnival Glory (New Orleans).
For flights in August, guests must be vaccinated.
Carnival will communicate more details directly to travel agents and customers next week.

Mr Duffy also noted that Carnival is looking forward to resuming operations on the West Coast.
We are looking forward to getting back to work on the west coast and plan to be open starting on the 21st. August to sail on the Carnival Panorama with inducted guests. We are working with local and state officials to finalize the necessary plans, she said.
The cruise line will continue to expand its operations and return more ships to their home ports starting in September.
