WDW’s new Disney Magic is the first ship to be kitted out entirely with the health and fitness facilities of the upscale Disney Institute. The Magic will feature a brand-new fitness center, including a separate health and fitness deck, the first time Disney has ever offered such an amenity on a ship. The ship’s fitness center features a large assortment of stationary and free-weight equipment, including the latest hand- and foot-controlled resistance machines, an elliptical training machine, bike trainers, an underwater treadmill, and a step machine. The Magic will also have new “magic mile” outdoor exercises, which will be conveniently located on deck 12, and will include miles of walking trails and a fitness court.

Disney Cruise Line has unveiled a new feature on The Disney Wonder, their refurbished cruise line, that combines a spa, restaurant, and bar into one. The new feature, known as The Salon, is located at the ship’s pool deck. The Salon consists of a relaxing lounge where passengers can enjoy a variety of spa treatments and experience the latest in high-tech beauty and wellness techniques. The Salon also offers a wide array of bar menu items, including signature cocktails and a variety of wine and beer.

I’ve been to Disney World once. The trip was a spring break vacation for my fraternity brother’s. It was a very fun trip. I had a blast, and I still have an awesome Disney story to tell. However, since I’ve become a working adult, I haven’t had the opportunity to visit The Happiest Place on Earth with my own kids. For the longest time I’ve thought about going down to Disney World with my own family. I’ve thought about all the things I’d like to do on the trip. However, at the time, I didn’t know what to do. Since I’m a writer, a trip to Disney World would be the perfect way to end the year.

Disney Wish, like the previous Disney ships, will not be just for children. The ship will feature plenty of activities for adults, including a variety of venues and areas reserved for people aged 18 and above.

In addition to the previously mentioned Star Wars-themed bar and speciality eateries inspired by “Beauty and the Beast,” Disney Cruise Line has released information on additional of these places.

The Disney Wish will include the fleet’s first outdoor spa retreat, as well as a salon and barbershop, as well as a selection of bars and lounges.

“With the Disney Wish, we wanted to develop an experience that enables our adult passengers to rest, rejuvenate, and reconnect in ways that only Disney Cruise Line can provide,” Laura Cabo, portfolio creative executive, Walt Disney Imagineering, stated.

“Not only did we offer more diversity and accessibility to the adult-exclusive locations, but we also brought more narrative and magic to them than ever before. This ship was built with adults in mind, and I’m certain that our passengers will return home feeling rejuvenated after their Disney Wish vacation.”

Senses Spa’s Outdoor Oasis

Senses Spa will feature an outdoor relaxing area for the first time on a Disney ship, where guests may relax in whirlpool tubs, recline on plush loungers, and join in yoga classes.

The open-air oasis is a new addition to the Rainforest experience on Disney Cruise Line, which has been redesigned for Disney Wish.

The Rainforest will include the first ice lounge in the fleet, enabling guests to mix thermal treatments. Heated loungers, sensory spa showers, and sauna, steam, and dry chambers will all be part of the experience.

Private treatment rooms and spa villas will be available at Senses Spa. Guests will be able to select from a variety of specialist treatments, including pain management and sleep enhancement, in addition to massages, facials, and acupuncture.

The redesigned Senses Fitness will be located next to the spa and will have state-of-the-art workout and wellness amenities such as a main room with training equipment, a bike studio, and an aerobics area.

Barbershop and salon

The Salon Untangled and Hook’s Barbery, the fleet’s first independent hairstyling and beauty salons, will debut on Disney Wish.

Untangled Salon

Adults may let their hair down in a bright, breezy atmosphere at Untangled Salon. This elegant salon, inspired by Rapunzel, the creative princess renowned for her long hair, will be furnished in purple and gold, with floating lantern light fixtures and cut-metal privacy screens representing Rapunzel’s paintings. The golden light of a chandelier will illuminate one half of the room, evoking the famous blossom that gave Rapunzel’s hair its magical properties.

Manicures, pedicures, teeth whitening, and skin treatments will be available at the salon in addition to haircuts and styling.

Hook’s Barber Shop

Hook’s Barbery will be a creative take on a typical European men’s salon, providing haircuts, shaves, and manicure and skin care, among other services.

The area will be decked up in dark woods, leather seats, and elaborate golden mirrors, with features inspired by the location’s namesake, Captain Hook. Some of the features that visitors may discover are an inlaid wooden map of Never Land, a concealed pocket watch, and, of course, a hook.

Tinker Bell may sometimes hop from one fixture to another, and a trio of apparently unremarkable lanterns will spring to life with lighting and audio effects to indicate this.

Hook’s Barbery will provide not just salon and barber services, but also the ultimate toast to a pirate’s life: a secret bar. Pre-Prohibition bourbons, vintage whiskey and port, aged rum, and premium spirits will be available, making it perfect for low-key hangouts, romantic date evenings, hosted tastings, and special evening events.

Nightlife

Each evening, Disney Wish, like the other Disney ships, will include a selection of bars and lounges designated exclusively for adults. However, unlike the other ships in the fleet, these venues will be scattered out among the ship’s various main meeting spots rather than in a single “district.”

Keg & Compass

Keg & Compass is a pub that celebrates the adventure and romance of the sea, designed in the rustic architectural style of a late 1800s Norwegian sailor’s map room.

Period-style oil paintings will portray stories of the deep, and elaborate carvings of tentacles, barnacles, and compasses will emphasize porthole frames, drawing influence from Norse nautical mythology.

A fanciful map in ancient maritime style will span the ceiling, paying tribute to Disney characters and tales about the sea. The map will highlight key locations to The Walt Disney Company and the creation and building of Disney Wish, in addition to characters like Ursula and Moana.

Visitors may relax and watch live sports, news, and big broadcast events while tasting beers, including three unique craft brews, as well as a selection of liquors, wines, and cocktails in the relaxed environment.

Nightingale’s

The ship’s piano bar, Nightingale’s, was named after Cinderella’s beautiful performance of “Sing Sweet Nightingale” in the 1950 film. The setting will be classically contemporary, with a soft metallic palette and a chandelier over the piano that features a swirl of iridescent bubbles and music notes.

The lively lounge will be a conceptual extension of the fairy-tale-inspired Grand Hall, with wide doors allowing the music to flow out into the atrium. There will be fine wines, bubblies, and hand-crafted cocktails available.

The Bayou

Passengers seeking for a New Orleans-style party may visit The Bayou, a casual club based on the Disney film “The Princess and the Frog.”

The area will be adorned with magnolia flowers, lily pads, and a canopy of sparkling “fireflies” above, evoking the beautiful marsh where Tiana and Naveen seek shelter in the film.

Each character will be honored with a bronze monument, and on each side of the bar, two gazebos inspired by the city’s famous wrought iron metalwork buildings will offer private sitting for small parties.

In a vibrant environment with live entertainment and musical performances, the venue will provide innovative drinks, speciality coffees, and trademark beignets.

On June 9, 2024, Disney Wish will set sail from Port Canaveral on her inaugural voyage, followed by a season of three- and four-night voyages to Nassau and Castaway Cay.
