After expanding into Europe in 2016, TruTravels has now added the US to its growing portfolio of destinations across the continent. This is the start of a new chapter for the company, as it looks to enter new markets and continues to develop its customer-focused approach to travelling.

TruTravels , the reinvented travel app, is expanding rapidly. A few weeks ago we announced that the app was rolling out to Italy and Germany, and this week we’ve confirmed that the United States is next on the list. In just 80 days since its initial launch, the app has been downloaded more than 90,000 times—and business is booming.

TruTravels, a company specializing in youth travel, is expanding its operations to offer its adventure travel services in the U.S. market.

The company, which was acquired by G Adventures in 2018, was previously only available to travellers in the UK and Australia, but has repositioned its product to focus more on travel advisers.

TruTravels Expands Into US With New Experiences

Mark Pope, co-founder of the UK tour operator, said the pause in international travel due to the pandemic has given the company the opportunity to rethink its product positioning in light of the changing needs and wants of travellers and how it can make its portfolio more intermediary-friendly, with travel advisers becoming increasingly important for consumer peace of mind.

We are very excited to introduce our super exciting travel program to agents across the United States to sell to a younger market of travelers. Our itineraries are highly structured with many inclusions, making them an easy and cost-effective solution for young professionals with time constraints and independent travelers looking for an extra social element to a great adventure, Pope said.

The company offers a variety of travel itineraries focused on social interaction, wellness and adventure in different categories such as FitVentures, SailVentures and Flashpacker.

We know that travelers crave social adventures after months of isolation and separation from friends and family, but at the same time we see travelers moving from sharing dorms to seeking personal space in accommodation options. The sailing holidays we design offer the perfect balance of activity and relaxation on some of Europe’s most breathtaking coastlines. Our existing TruTravelers are also growing with us – they still want the best hiking experience, but with a little more comfort, so the flashpacker style is perfect for them, Pope says.

Pope added that travel is increasingly focused on health and wellness.

Since the pandemic, there has been a huge shift in health, wellness and mindfulness that extends to the way people travel, he added. Many travelers don’t want to spend an entire week in a training camp. That’s why we’ve designed our FitVentures trips to celebrate local wellness and fitness in nature, while giving the group the chance to explore amazing places like Bali and Thailand.

TruNinjas are TruTravel tour guides and also act as social facilitators, ensuring groups have fun and visit important places.

In announcing its entry into the U.S. market, TruTravel also announced discounts of up to 50 percent on travel to Croatia and Greece in 2024 and 20 percent on all sailings in 2024 if purchased before the 31st. July 2024 can be booked. The offer includes more than 20 destinations throughout 2024, including an eight-day sea voyage to Greece (now $697.50, normally $1,395), an eight-day sea voyage to Croatia (now $627.50, normally $1,225) and a nine-day voyage to Greece (now $1,624, normally $1,815).
