In a world dominated by the media’s portrayal of groping incidents, it is refreshing to hear about a case where a man was accused of groping a woman, but he was wrongfully accused by the crew member.

A young woman claims that a man groped her for an hour during her flight and that the crew told her not to make any noise
Gary Leff 23. June 2024
An 18-year-old woman claims she was groped by a male passenger for an hour during a Spirit Airlines flight. She made a video! And she says the flight attendants told her to sit down and shut up when she reported it.
She traveled with her family, but they were not together. This is especially likely if you don’t pay extra for a seat on a Spirit flight. And it seems she made the mistake of switching seats with another passenger and ended up in the window seat in front of our pervert.
His video shows a man reaching out to him through the space between the window and the middle seat. According to her, he kept touching her arms and breasts. According to the woman, he was about 50 or 60 years old. When she showed the video of the man to the flight attendant, she was told to sit down and shut up after the man denied being guilty.
When she was reading a book before leaving, she said she felt a light touch on the side of her chest, as if something was caressing her.
She continued: I wonder what that feeling could be, it was very subtle and I reached out and touched her fingertips…. I realized the man behind me was touching me, so I pulled my hand away. I thought that was the end of the story, because he knew I knew he was touching me because our fingertips were literally touching.
After a few minutes, she says, she returned to her seat, but says he tried to touch her again, and that’s when she realized he was trying to reach my breasts….. When she showed the video to staff, she said the man tried to deny it and was told to calm down, sit down and shut up.

We have no information about the flight in question. However, video evidence should not be necessary, and it is certainly not necessary to make an incident last an hour to collect evidence.
Even if the story of the abuse is fabricated, the passengers must be separated. Flight attendants shouldn’t have to investigate allegations and sort out conflicting stories. They should document the incident and help the passengers disperse until the persons whose decision has been assigned to them can do so.
In other words: Passengers should be separated. Even on a full flight, it seems appropriate to ask other passengers to change seats. Many will be happy to do so without even being fully aware of the situation. It’s disturbing that it hasn’t happened here. The woman’s TikTok account has many more videos and comments, five more.
Stories about creeps in planes are not new, nor are stories about people crashing or getting high and causing disturbances or dangerous situations. When people from all walks of life come together in a metal tube at 30,000 feet, anything can happen. It’s rare, given the number of passengers and flights, but it’s common enough that we hear about it all the time.
And while it’s usually not enough to tell people to back off – often it’s not about masks, alcohol or drugs, but things like one person’s normalcy disrupting another’s space. But something as simple and mundane as a passenger groping another passenger should result in a standard support procedure.
