Many of us might wish for sunny days and mild temperatures now that winter has replaced fall. A visit to one of the numerous stunning Caribbean islands will be the best action to make these aspirations come true. Here are five recommended islands and some highlights for each of them.
1. Jamaica
The all-inclusive Royal Decameron Cornwall Beach, five-star Montego Bay Beach Resort, and the boutique Zoetry Montego Bay are just a few of the new hotels that have just opened, several of which are in Montego Bay.
Another newcomer to Montego Bay is Beachfront Jewel Grande, which is celebrating its grand launch with a 50% discount, making butler service potentially accessible. In Negril are the naturist-friendly Grand Lido, the family-friendly Azul Sensatori, and the gathering-friendly Hideaway at Royalton.
The tourism board has made it simpler to identify smaller establishments through a new webpage for inns and hotels because they need love too. The board has launched a
self-guided tour, also known as the Jamaica Blue Mountain Culinary Trail of the Blue Mountains featuring 15 spots to stop for food attractions and food, from Holywell Recreational Park to the Old Tavern Coffee Estate.
2. Anguilla
Previously, travelers had to fly to St. Maarten, then take a ferry or puddle jumper to Anguilla, a little Caribbean island renowned for its 33 unspoiled beaches, stunning resorts, and laid-back beach bars. However, American Airlines in November has added eight more nonstop, three-and-a-half-hour flights from Miami, allowing passengers to arrive by midday.
This winter, two new hotels have opened on the island: Quinn is a cozy retreat on quiet Long Bay with three suites that have access to the facilities of the nearby Quintessence Hotel villa. A spa, wine cellar, and an infinity pool are a few of them. In addition, the previous Cuisinart Golf Resort & Spa changed names and became Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club last year. Seven restaurants use food from the resort’s hydroponic gardens, 178 suites, and villas with breath-taking views of Rendezvous Bay, and the 18-hole championships course and nine-hole short course built by Greg Norman are both in excellent condition and ready for play.
3. Saint Lucia
Saint Lucia has a variety of tourist attractions, including plantations, beaches, mountains, rainforests, and more. On the island’s second-highest peak, Gros Piton, adventurers can zip-line, trek, and explore. Horseback riding is available on the beach for those who enjoy animals. History enthusiasts can visit Fort Rodney. Soufriere, a picturesque hamlet on the island’s west coast with many mineral spas and hot springs is an excellent place for those needing some R&R to let their tension melt away.
Five-star resorts are available on the island for those seeking luxury. Sugar Beach is an 18th-century sugar plantation sited on 100 acres of tropical rainforest that boasts beautiful sights of the Caribbean Sea and the spectacular Piton Mountains. Sugar Beach also boasts colonial elegance and contemporary conveniences. Reserve a room at Marigot Bay or a private hot tub suite for the ultimate opulent getaway. The only thing left to do is order a rum cocktail and enjoy the never-ending scenes of the attractive Caribbean island.
4. Barbados
Barbados is arguably the most diversified Caribbean island and is now famous for being Rihanna’s birthplace. It’s an excellent option for mixing culture with outdoor fun in the sun. Finding a fantastic vacation deal is doable because the island has a vast selection of lodging options for every price level.
The heart of the island and a charming 17th-century town, Bridgetown is a must-see for culture buffs. Take a tramway into Harrison’s Cave for a taste of nature and explore the underground to see fantastic rock formations. Visit the Mount Gay Rum Distillery while you’re in the Caribbean; it’s been making premium rum since 1703!
5. St. Croix
Even though St. Thomas and St. John sustained the most damage from Hurricanes Irma and Maria, the U.S. Virgin Islands are currently rebuilding. St. Croix kept accepting visitors, even if some of the resorts on those islands did not reopen until 2019. The five-star Buccaneer, which you may recall from The Bachelor, reopened at the start of November, and in 2018, it will commemorate its 70th birthday.
Along with businesses in Frederiksted and Christiansted, Club Comanche and Sand Castle on the Beach have reopened. Get the most recent information at Visit USVI. Cruise passengers should be aware that 20 other cruise ships will stop at St. Thomas in November, with the Norwegian Dawn being the first to depart St. Croix on November 11.
The Bottom Line
Visiting beaches and resorts in winter has its charm. Although there are numerous places to stay in the Caribbean region, those mentioned above are among the best places to enjoy with friends and family.
