Norwegian Cruise Line announced it is resuming operations from Miami, Florida, six months after docking at a port the company had previously closed due to a labor dispute.

Norwegian Cruise Line was forced to cease operations after the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) issued a fine of $1,764,000 for failing to comply with the International Air Transportation Association (IATA) safety guidelines for cabin stowage of baggage and other items. The fine was levied in response to a complaint filed by the U.S. Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) in March. Norwegian USA, Inc. (NUSA) agreed to pay the fine and submitted an application for a variance to the DOT, which was granted on June 28..
