Only a few days remain before Mardi Gras sets sail on her maiden voyage. This week, we’ll take a look at what makes Mardi Gras the world’s most anticipated cruise ship right now. We looked at the first-ever roller coaster at sea, Bolt, earlier this week, as well as the newest excel suites and Loft 19, a luxury hideaway on deck 19.

The Palm dining room, Shaq’s new Chicken, Big Restaurant, Blue Iguana, Cucina del Capitano, and other new eating locations aboard to provide free breakfast outside of the Lido were announced yesterday. Onboard Mardi Gras, the majority of meal options are complimentary, with just a few exceptions. The places that do charge a premium are the so-called specialty dining establishments, which are fantastic, but you will not be missing out if you don’t choose to spend a few evenings. We’ll start with specialized eating establishments:

Emeril’s Bistro (Lunch & Dinner): Located in Mardi Gras‘ French Quarter, Emeril’s Bistro 1396 offers guests authentic bayou flavors and fun from New Orleans. Expect fried oysters, BBQ shrimp, duck & sausage gumbo, po-boys, muffuletta sandwiches, fresh ceviche, jambalaya, and more. Here’s the menu:

Rudi’s Seagrill (Dinner): Rudi Sodamin has a long history with Carnival Corporation, so seeing Rudi’s Seagrill aboard Mardi Gras is no surprise. Rudi’s Seagrill, located on Deck 8 between La Piazza and Summer Landing, gives visitors the finest the ocean has to offer, as the name implies. Think lobster tail, seafood bisque, and Dover Sole. You may get free-range chicken, a Berkshire pork chop, or a New York strip if you want something more traditional. The entire menu may be seen here.

Bonsai Sushi (Lunch & Dinner):  Located next to the Atrium, Bonsai sushi is sure to satisfy your craving for some sushi and soy sauce onboard Mardi Gras. And it’s not just sushi either; here is the menu.

Steakhouse Fahrenheit 555 (Dinner): While it is by no means the only location aboard to grab a good steak, it does have the most enticing menu! Steakhouse offers only top steaks, giving meat enthusiasts everything they’ve ever desired! Think iced oysters and beef tartare, as well as Cowboy steaks, Lobster Surf and Turf, Filet Mignon, and Wagyu Beef. One of the tables, which can accommodate up to 14 people, is seen below:

Bonsai Teppanyaki (Lunch & Dinner): Together with Bonsai Sushi next to the Atrium on deck 8, expect an interactive meal full of surprising spectacles, delicious food like teriyaki Salmon and pork yakitori, and that food flying through the restaurant! Check out the menu below:

Seafood Shack (Lunch & Dinner): Imagine a New England-style seaside spot with the best the ocean has to offer! Think Maine Lobster, Crab Cakes, and of course, New England Clam Chowder in a bread bowl. Check out the menu!

Chef’s Table (Supper): This isn’t your ordinary dinner. This is a once-in-a-lifetime event that will leave you speechless. Because this dinner cooked by the executive chef is limited to just 14 diners each sitting, you’ll need to make a reservation as soon as possible. What’s on the menu? There’s nothing else aboard like it.

Other locations may charge an extra fee for specific goods, such as premium drinks or souvenirs, although these will be clearly indicated.

Options for Free Mardi Gras Dining

Onboard the Mardi Gras, there is an amazing selection of eateries. Carnival Cruise Line recognizes the importance of excellent cuisine aboard a cruise ship and ensures that the variety onboard its newest and first mega-ship, Mardi Gras, does not disappoint. We won’t go through all of them (there are a lot! ), but here are the ones you should look into aboard!

The Lido Marketplace is a location where you may buy and sell

This is a timeless classic that is always a popular option, and for good reason! The Lido is the buffet of choice for passengers aboard Carnival’s ships, with options like as a BBQ area, a deli counter, salad bar, Asian station, and pasta bar, not to mention the chef’s daily specialties. Onboard Mardi Gras, it will most likely be the same.

Big Chicken

Carnival’s Chief Fun Officer Shaq is responsible for the first Big Chicken at sea! So, what exactly is on offer? Think Shaq Attack chicken sandwiches, crunchy chicken strips, or juicy fried chicken baskets with potato salad and jalapeo slaw as sides. The entire menu may be seen here.

Guy’s Burger Joint is a restaurant that serves burgers.

On any of Carnival’s ships, you can’t miss one of the most popular places. Guy’s Burger Joint has some of the finest burgers on the whole ship! Are you curious as to why they are the best? Here are the top 10 reasons to visit Guy’s Burgers!

And this is not all; of course, there is Chibang! The Chinese and Mexican fusion restaurant we reported on earlier, 24-hour pizza from Pizzeria Del Capitano, and of course that other restaurant from Guy Fieri, ‘Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse”, the multi-award-winning BBQ restaurant and bar will have complimentary dinner each night.

Not to mention Mardi Gras’ own twist on traditional street cuisine, ‘Street Eats,’ where three constantly rotating open-air booths offer anything from steamed buns to overdone fries. Last but not least, don’t miss the Sea Day Brunch, which includes Huevos Rancheros, Eggs Benedict, Steak and Eggs, and a whole lot more.

Dining Rooms (Main)

The major dining rooms aboard the Mardi Gras provide the same high-quality cuisine as the rest of the fleet’s ships. You don’t need to spend a lot of money to enjoy a wonderful dinner with three courses and mains like steak, duck, scallops, and lobster. Assigned seating is offered in the Palm Dining Room, and Your Time Dining is also available in the Flamingo Dining Room.
